- Be sure to turn on auto-updates for Operating System and apps.
- Host Operating System as well as other Host Operating System.
- Applications (mobile and also on computer, drivers, etc.)
2. Ecrypt Data.
- Modern Phones, Macs and most Linux have it by default, check that it is on anyway.
- For windows users u can use other tools like Veracrypt (Make sure that you have a backup first).
3. Have an antivirus and anti-malware (but don't install two or more, since they might not work properly that way).
4. Passwords.
- Have safe passwords, no "password", no "12345678", no "77777777", etc.
- Don't use the same passwords for different things.
- Consider using a password manager, it can be your computer's keychain or a third party manager you trust.
Which antiviruses will you recommend for a Windows user? (Free /paid) And if I have an older version of an iPhone or any other device that because of it's oldness does not allow updates anymore... how exposed am I to viruses? and is there a way to stop them?
ResponderEliminarWindows defender (default in most windows installations) is a good free option, if you are looking for a third party, Avira is getting pretty good reviews, also does Bitdefender, I invite you to compare the options that work better for you. As for older devices, I'll sugest to allways upgrade when necessary, sadly companies nowdays stop supporting older devices and they dont release patches for them, so if its a device that you use a lot i'll sugest to upgrade, if you can't i'll suggest to update all applications on the device and be smart when using it, don't visit sites that look phony or you know that might be harmfull, at least until you can save up for an upgrade.
